 BlackTop Vinyl (BTV) is a rock band located in the
northwest suburbs of Chicago. The band has been together for about three years and has become known for their quality
songwriting and energetic shows.
BTV's first EP, "The Jester", came out at the end of June 2006. Their sound is old-fashioned
rock+funk+pop+punk played with a lot of soul. The music can go from rock and roll mayhem to chill grooves, and on certain
occasions, back again. BTV has played many shows in the Chicago suburbs.
Three highlights were winning the Battle of the Bands at the Northbrook JCC in March 2006,
finishing in 2nd place at Gand Music Battle of the Bands III (out of 60 bands), and Dan Dicker winning the "Most
Outstanding Male Vocalist" award at Gand.
