LATE NITE HP PERFORMERS

Rhonda Steakley & Daughters

"A Mother and 2 Daughters" come together in a dazzling mix of generations. From 21st century hits, the Beatles, and the standards we all love, this trio's love affair with music began from birth. Rhonda Steakley chose as a young girl to pursue the path of piano. She followed that path from Columbus, Ohio to Chicago - performing in local theatres. She has settled in Highland Park (for now) and was privileged to provide the musical background for Highland Park's own Gallery 60035.

Rhonda's daughter, Diana Freeman, a HPHS Junior, found her own musical path as well. Steering clear of the already-taken piano, Diana took up guitar at age 11 and also performed vocals with a junior Klezmer band for 3 years. She accompanies her own vocals with guitar and occasionally allows her mom and sister to join her. Diana also participates in the vocal music program at HPHS.

Rhonda's other daughter, Artemis Steakley-Freeman, will be joining this duo with her own vocals. She is a junior at HPHS and enjoys singing and the performing and theater arts. She has appeared in the Victory Gardens production of "The Pajama Game " as well as the HPHS recent production of "Rent." Artemis' favorite music includes Broadway, ballads and The Beatles.
